The Finance Police have rescued a Algerian migrant boat off Sardinia, where 43 Algerians arrived in Cagliari and the southwestern part of the island between Thursday night and Friday morning.

Following their rescue, the migrants were taken to the port of Cagliari, where they were identified and given medical exams. The same operation was performed for two other small boats, one with eight people aboard and the other carrying seven people, which the Coast Guard found in the same area. Meanwhile, Carabinieri police found another 13 Algerians on land near the Teulada military range. They were also taken for identification and medical exams and then transferred to migrant reception centres. The last group arrived in the area of Cala Cipolla, in the town of Domus De Maria, just east of Teulada.
