The Polish government has been promoting anti-refugee policies. Residents of the Greek island of Chios are protesting against a new predeparture center being built there and migrants abandoned in the Sahara desert were saved by Niger authorities. All this and more in today's roundup.

Poland's government stokes fears about refugees: Poland is defiantly refusing to accept refugees for resettlement, despite the threat of legal action from the European Union. Its government says it won't be blackmailed and is prepared to defend its position in court. Read more here 

Greek government accused of shirking blame in Chios: Greece's government has been heavily criticized by the opposition party New Democracy for their handling of the migrant problem on the island of Chios. Angry groups of local residents are preparing to stage of protest to rally against the creation of a new pre-departure center. Read more here 

Abandoned migrants in Sahara desert by Niger authorities: 117 migrants were rescued by Niger authorities after their smugglers abandoned them in the Sahara desert. The migrants were traveling through Niger toward Libya in hopes of eventually reaching Europe. Click here to read more
