The city of Brindisi, in Puglia, has activated Homeway, an agency helping foreign citizens with a regular job contract find housing. The agency puts them in contact with real estate owners.

A new housing agency has been activated in the Puglia city of Brindisi to help and support foreign citizens with a regular job contract who are looking for housing by putting them in contact with apartment owners, the municipality said in a statement published on Monday, February 7.

The project is called Homeway and its objective is to "offer an instrument to look for housing that is safe and recognized in the territory for foreign citizens who already have a job, guaranteeing their social and economic autonomy and offering owners more guarantees and support to rent with several incentives," the statement said.

'Path to exit exploitation'

The initiative was activated and promoted by the municipal government of Brindisi as part of the program 'Individual paths to exit exploitation', financed by the national program for inclusion 'Pon Inclusione' 2014-2020.

The program was organized with the strategic support of several social cooperatives who work locally on migrant hosting.
