Police forces in several European countries have arrested 30 individuals accused of profiteering several hundred million euros to smuggle migrants into the European Union from Turkey on luxury sailboats.
European police have arrested a dozen people suspected of smuggling migrants across the English Channel to Britain. The mainly Iranian gang reportedly charged migrants thousands of euros per crossing.
Authorities in France and the Netherlands have arrested 23 people suspected of involvement in large-scale people smuggling. They are believed to have smuggled 10,000 Kurdish migrants into the UK from France.
